Biography

Dj Sham is a music producer and rap artist from Richmond, California. From tha 1 turntable & a broken 808 school of hip-hop, Sham has performed for years under the names Dj Sham, Dj Sham-Pain and $cott E. Pimpin, converting from the Dj Sham-Rock moniker in the early 90's.

Still actively producing and performing, Sham has produced records for L.A. based Twice the Trouble (Giant Records) and Geetas (Nu U Productions) in the early 90'S, Bay Area rappers Big Mel, Nutt-So, Family Business, Ghost, Mac Saucy, Detrimental, Heat Seeker, Calvin T, Dj Do, King George and Babyface P.

Starting his career as a Dj for Ben B.Hard and then a performer for the group "LIGIT" from Richmond, spawning the careers of Dj Sham, Dj Do (pronounced Dough), Cool-E and Dj Fresh Kidd. Sham recorded and performed locally but, relocated to Los Angeles after being invited to visit a cousin there. Commissioned By Giant Records, Sham produced an album for Twice the Trouble, a Los Angeles based rap act, only to see Giant records fold before the album was released. Sham made his way back to the Bay after nearly a decade to start up PaperTrail Productions.
