Mike Mosley was born and raised in Fairfield, CA. He first got the taste of rap when he was in grade school where he would make mix tapes and sell them to all the kids at his school. Mike Mosley soon got a reputation around town that he was man to see if you wanted a tape to get your party started. It wasn't long until Mike Mosley started making his own beats and mastering the turntables. In his little bedroom on a fifty dollar sound system, Mike Mosley started recording with cats like DJ Smalls, Doc of Roc, Cuttin Sutton, Gigolo Jack and a host of other young talented emcee's, but Mike Mosley's big break came when he hooked up with a hungry emcee with an unorthodox style. That emcee was none other than world famous superstar E-40. The duo of Mike Mosley and E-40 would go on to put the Bay Area on the map in a major way and would start musical movement called the mobb sound that continues to this very day.
Soon after, Mike Mosley hooked up with another unknown hungry rapper from Sacramento who went by the name of C-Bo, and would go on to be one of the true gangsta rappers of all time. Their record called "Gas Chamber" is an all time classic. Then one day while chillin in Atlanta, Mike Mosley was shocked when heard the greatest rapper of all time shout "oh shit, it's Mike Mosley. Yo, we gotta work together". That rapper was none other than the great Tupac Shakur. It turns out that Pac was a huge fan of the C-Bo records and wanted some of them dope beats on his "Me Against the World" album. So Mike Mosley laced him with two of the best songs on the record "Heavy in the Game" and "Can U Get Away". Pac and Mike would work on a dozen more songs together. Classic songs like "Ain't Hard 2 Find", "Tradin' War Stories", "Gettin Money", "Good Life", and "Million Dollar Spot" and "Dusted 'n' Disgusted" both with E-40. Pac had said many times that Mike Mosley was one of his favourite producers. Mike Mosley then went on to discover a rapper named TQ and ended up producing and executive producing his multi platinum album called "They Never Saw Me Coming". That record spawned the mega smash hits "Westside" and "Bye Bye Baby". Mike Mosley and TQ toured the world with that record and to this day, it's considered a masterpiece.
Mike Mosley has been featured in magazines, on radio, television and on movie soundtracks and has his name stampled on well over 30 million records. He's discovered hip-hop legends like TQ, E-40, B-Legit, Celly Cel, Mac Mall, Master P, super producer Rick Rock and too many others to count. He has done more for west coast hip-hop just about anyone else in the rap game. Mike Mosley is friends with just about every rapper and producer in the industry. Now Mike Mosley is taking his game to the next level with Steady Mobbin Productions, his label that was taken over a decade to build from the ground up.
